Canoeing
Outdoor recreation in connection with water has always attracted many people. Canoe trips on shiny lakes or through narrow streams, with all the experiences of nature along the shores, are both exciting and relaxing.
Värmland/Dalsland is varied – from complete wilderness to beautiful cultivated small idyllic communities. We have deliberately set an upper limit on the number of canoes we rent out. This is to offer our customers time, consideration and give you time to experience nature. You can also choose to stay a few nights at our facility and devote yourself to yourself in peace and quiet. For those of you who are unfamiliar with outdoor life, this is a good tip. Some days we arrange excursions and other activities such as moose safaris and different types of try-out programs such as climbing.
Stork Canoe
A large canoe is 11.5 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. And can accommodate a maximum of 16 people in each canoe.
Paddling a Montreal canoe (big canoe) is a huge experience! You get your paddle, your place in the canoe, your personal stuff sack. Then off we go!
Number of participants from minimum ten to 32 people. A real trip with a big canoe – just like the old days in the wilds of Canada. The equipment is historic. You’ll stay in Indian tents and cook the classic food together in large pots over campfires. Big canoe is recommended for all groups, school classes, scouts, companies and associations.
We have two large canoes and can supplement with two-man canoes if needed.

Book the trip or stays
We’d love to talk to you before you arrive. The idea is to offer you our experience and knowledge of this unique wilderness area. You can choose to paddle only in smaller lakes and streams that you can reach with short portages or to paddle in the larger lakes with locks. Many of our guests also choose a longer trip into Norway.
If you want to start or end at a place other than Risviken, we can arrange transport at reasonable prices. Many customers come back year after year to try new tours and experience tranquility and nature.
